Emerging from the shadow of a small town, Janette Everett-Morgan is making quite an entrance on the traditional gospel music scene. Growing up in a family oriented and spirit filled church, she fell in love with music at an early age and began singing in the church choir. As she experienced the trials and tribulations of life, her faith kept her grounded and gave her pain purpose.
Janette always loved the Lord but came to know Him more intimately as she faced a critical health crisis while caring for her mother who suffered from a stroke. She was then suspended from her job, which brought her to her lowest point in life. During this dark time of uncertainty, Janette’s faith remained strong as she wrote and sang the songs of glory to encourage herself while she pressed through the many doctor’s appointments and awaited her own diagnosis. It was in this space that she wrote the soul-stirring song, “Calling Your Name”. Receiving the news that she did not have breast cancer after all gave her a renewed sense of strength and further fueled her desire to share her remarkable testimony in order to uplift others and to share the goodness of God with the world.
Janette has received numerous awards. She has been Nominated for several Gospel Awards. Janette also released two full albums 1. Stepping Out On Faith 2. Patiently Waiting singles How I Got Over and Calling Your Name.
Janette’s musical influences are pillars of the traditional gospel music industry and include phenomenal pioneers such as Pastor Shirley Caesar, The Clark Sisters, Dorothy Norwood and Mahalia Jackson. Staying true to her roots, Janette is currently spreading the message of God’s immeasurable love and healing power through song all over the country, and is now accepting engagements for 2017.
