Pastor Derrick Moore is the youngest of six children born to the late Mr. Dan Moore & Mrs. Stella Moore Rev. Moore a native of Aurora, Illinois. At the age of six, he confessed his belief in Jesus Christ at the Gayles Memorial Baptist Church.
Pastor Moore acknowledged his calling to the ministry at the Macedonia Baptist Church of Minneapolis, Minnesota under the leadership of the late Rev. Gregory L. Anderson. Upon the announcement of his calling, he decided to go back to his home church where he was licensed by his Pastor Rev. George Marshall. At the instruction of his pastor, in August of 1989, Rev. Moore moved his family to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bible Theology & Christian Education at the American Baptist College where he graduated in May of 1992. Pastor Moore was Ordained in 1991 by his Pastor Rev. George Marshall.
Rev. Moore was assistant Chaplain at the Nashville Rescue Mission and Assistant to the Pastor and Minister of Music at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Hartsville, Tennessee under the leadership of the late Rev. Charlie Powell. Rev. Moore was called to his first pastorate in February of 1993 at the Greater Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. After serving faithfully for four years, he prayerfully decided to move his ministry back to the Nashville community where he reunited with the Sylvan Street Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Jimmy D. Greer. Upon reuniting, he served as an Associate Minister.
Pastor Moore currently serves as the Pastor of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville Tennessee where he has served for the past 17 years.
Pastor Moore is currently a retired Juvenile Probation Officer from the Metropolitan Government of Davidson County, Nashville, Tennessee.
Pastor Moore is married to Ms. Darlene Moore who is very supportive. Pastor and Mrs. Moore are blessed with three wonderful children – Mr. Jeffrey, Miss Jasmine and Mr. Jaylen and two granddaughters, Jaiyla Danielle and Jayccee Day.
